About Silke Powers

I didn't start painting until I was in my 40s. I didn't even know I had any talent. In the few years since I began my artistic career, I have been painting almost daily, making up for lost time.

 

Last year I experimented with abstract painting, always fascinated by flowing paint, textures and shapes. In one of those abstracts I saw and painted a pig, which was a defining moment.

I have been painting animals ever since, combining my love for color, abstraction, and the many animals on our planet. 

 

I work exclusively with Golden acrylic paints and grounds.
